Through the Gate Services

KSS CRC staff will give the men at Standford Hill support in the prison to sort out any resettlement issues they have but there will be an expectation that they take responsibility for their own resettlement needs.

On release men will be supervised in the community for at least 12 months.
We will ensure that those supervising the men in the community knows what their plans are, so they are able to support them.

The CRC staff work with everyone, even if they are allocated to the National Probation Service or moving out of the area, supporting the men with their resettlement needs and contacting their supervising officer in the community about the work that has been completed.
A member of the resettlement team will meet with all men on arrival, and again in the final 12 weeks of their sentence.
Together, we will create a resettlement plan that covers the work completed in prison and also anything an individual may need to do on release.

The resettlement team work with the services in the prisons, and also have specialist partners who can help men with matters such as:
•Debt and money management
•Housing- NACRO are KSS CRC’s housing brokerage service and if an individual is going to be released from custody to ‘No Fixed Abode’ will support them in finding safe accommodation for release.
•Employment and training

We also have partners who can support men if they have been a victim of domestic abuse or sexual violence or if they have been a sex worker.

All men at Standford Hill will need to take responsibility of their own progress
and actions. They will need to understand and accept that only they can
make the changes needed to stay clear of crime. As a part of this they will
need to:
•Follow through agreed actions
•Keep their appointments
•Tell us if they have any problems or their needs aren’t being met
•Be honest with us and their selves
